REVIEW

This is the first book I've read by Laurie, but I'll definitely have to get my hands on One Endless Summer now. I do love when a book captures you so much you keep reading until the early hours of the morning not even realising what the time is, this book did just that, I loved every page of it.

Firstly I absolutely loved that this book is set somewhere completely different to most books these days. It's totally on my bucket list to be pulled my huskies across the snow. Each of the characters have their own issues to overcome and you find yourself realising how relatable their issues are to real life.  I don't usually like when a book jumps from different characters stories or points of view but I actually really enjoyed how you found out just a little more about each character bit by bit, you really got the know them.

I feel Laurie really captures the essence of her characters perfectly, it makes you want to keep turning page after page to find out more about them. She writes her characters and scenes so effortlessly. beautiful read.

Author bio: When I'm not running around after my two children, my husband, our Cockerpoo Rodney, or just plain running, I love nothing more than disappearing into the fictional world of my characters preferably with a large coffee and a Twix (or two) to hand.

When I am in the thick of a character crisis, I can often be seen walking around the village with my jumper on inside out and back to front, chatting (and occasionally laughing) away to myself.

I have a first class honours degree in psychology and a background in Public Relations, both of which help in everything I do.

The Little Wedding Island by Jaimie Admans Cover Reveal

Morning all, today we're showing off the new awesome cover for Jaimie Admans new book.

BLURB
Bonnie Haskett loves love. She’s a hopeless romantic who’s always daydreaming of the day she’ll finally get married and live happily ever after. She hasn’t found Mr Right yet, but she’s sure he’s out there somewhere… For now, she consoles herself by writing about beautiful weddings for a bridal magazine, watching brides and grooms so hopelessly in love that it’s enough to melt even the harshest cynic’s heart.

Rohan Carter is love’s harshest cynic and nothing about a wedding will melt his heart, thank you very much. He writes a monthly column for a men’s magazine in which he advises men never to get married and gives advice on how to protect themselves from love.

Hello Hello

How are we all today? All well I hope. Another book review for you today, with work this past week or so I'm a little behind and I must admit I do still have about 4 chapters left to finish before the weekend. Apologies to all, that work has held me back on finishing this on time.

A Vicarage Christmas by Kate Hewitt

BLURB
Welcome to Thornwaite, a quaint village tucked up in England’s beautiful but rainy Lake District… where homecomings happen and surprises are in store for the four Holley sisters…

Anna Holley, the third of four sisters, has always felt a little bit forgotten. A family tragedy when she was a child had her retreating deep into shyness, and social anxiety kept her on the fringes of the cozy chaos of the busy vicarage.

After several years away from home, Anna returns for Christmas... and an important announcement from her father. As much as she once loved the village, coming back is hard and puts Anna's social capabilities to the test.

Avoiding her sisters’ bossy questions, she heads out to the local pub one night, and meets a handsome stranger nursing a pint. Somehow, unburdened by expectations, Simon seems like the perfect person to spill all her secrets to—including a hopeless, long-held crush on her sister’s boyfriend. Confident she’ll never see him again, Anna returns home… only to discover the next day that Simon is actually her father’s new curate!

Anna is beyond mortified, but Simon won’t let her retreat into her usual shyness—and for once Anna is forced to confront the past, and all the fears and feelings she’d tried so long to hide. But with his own heartache that needs to heal, can Simon help Anna to make this the most magical Christmas either of them have known?

Soph x Make Up Revolution Make Up Look

Afternoon one and all, so I have an extra post for you this week as a friend of mine - Sarah Louise asked me if I wanted to collaborate with her using Soph’s (SophDoesNails) new palettes with Make Up Revolution and well who am I to say no to trying out something new. Her idea was to use the palette to try a day and night look. Sarah has done a gorgeous day look over on her blog, you can see her look here - and I have attempted a night look.

So here we go, please excuse the awful photos as trying to get decent ones without a shadow over my eyes was pretty hard going, I even had my boyfriend standing on the bed and in the bath trying to get a good photo for me, but to no avail, so I guess we’ll all have to make do with these.

Pot Love 2: The Sinking Chef by Sylvia Ashby

Firstly lets start off with a little bit about the book itself.

FIRST LOOK: Soph x Make Up Revolution

Wales, UK
Hello Hello.

How are we all today? Good I hope. So today I have a first look at Soph’s (SophDoesNails) collaboration with Make Up Revolution on an eyeshadow and highlighter palette. I have been watching Soph since just before she reached 300k - which in actual fact is not actually that long as she has whizzed through subscribers, but getting back to today, as soon as I saw Soph’s youtube video about these I knew I had to have them.

Soph x Make Up Revolution

Due to being in work I couldn’t order these until I got home from work, which led to me not receiving mine until Monday rather than Saturday when others seemed to be getting theirs, but they arrived in perfect condition, I was so excited to see that they had arrived and I just couldn't wait to see what they looked like - and I have to say they certainly didn’t disappoint, Soph has done an amazing job with both of these palettes.

Matilda Gregson never knew a world outside hers existed, that is until Harvey comes along and shows her something beyond her imagination.

All that is on Tilly’s mind is finishing her dissertation, getting her degree, and spending time with her friends before the end of the school year. Under the pressures of surviving, their friendship grows and they find friends in the most unlikely of places, and betrayal just around the corner. Will they both be able to stop him before he tears Jenny’s society to the ground?

The Collective by R.S. Williams

REVIEW
Matilda (who you will come to know as Tilly) is a student with an interest in pirates, while researching pirates for her dissertation she meets Jenny who brings a whole new world to Tilly. I love that Rhianne chose pirates as you rarely see them in books these days, I am a bit of a sucker for a pirate.

I actually like that Harvey came along and took Tilly on an adventure whether it be good or bad, I do like a bit of mischief and action. I find time travel a little harder to read than your usual sci-fi but Rhianne has written this book beautifully.

I found this book a little slow in parts (as you know I like a book to keep me griped from start to end) but still a very enjoyable read none the less. Praise to Rhianne for creating this seamless new world for us all to delve into, I'm glad I stuck at it and pushed through the slower pages, I'd recommend this to anyone who loves adventure and a little bit of the dark side.

Review

Firstly, can we just stop for a moment and look how cute the book cover is. To me its a real summer book cover and if I saw this on the shelf I would immediately pick it up to read what the book was about.

I have to say the first chapter, I didn't really know what to make of things, I was expecting this light hearted summer read but I was thrown by the intensity of the first chapter but it soon turned to that light hearted romance I was expecting with some self healing and courage thrown in for good measure.

Kiki starts out as a bit of a lost character but soon finds her feet and decides to make a change for the better, with new adventures and new loves. Sarah has written a fantastic story and I loved being along for the ride, it is yet again another perfect summer read, once you pick it up you just won't be able to put it down. Kudo's to Sarah as this is the second book in the series and I fell in love with the book despite not having read the first book, It's great as a stand alone book but I am super excited to read the first in the series.

I would highly recommend anyone who loves a feel good book to pick up a copy of this and lost yourself in Butterfly Cove.

This post has been floating around for a few weeks now and what with the nice weather we've been having lately my blog kind of took a back seat.

I am a big fan of music and lately I haven’t listened to much. I used to listen to music all the time, at home, in the car, out and about but I even have the volume in my car turned down, which if you knew me, you’d know is not like me at all.

So I thought maybe I should share it with you guys, and maybe even get some suggestions from yourselves.
